Bioinformatics Club
Turning Data Into Discoveries
Bioinformatics Club is a student-led community at the University of Calgary. We open the world of bioinformatics to students from all disciplines and skill levels.
Connect with peers, researchers, and professionals shaping the future of bioinformatics.
Participate in labs and workshops designed to make bioinformatics tools accessible and exciting.
Discover unique career paths that blend programming, biology, and problem-solving — from healthcare to agriculture and beyond.
Our goal is to make bioinformatics accessible. We dream of science that is interdisciplinary and open
Living organisms store complex information in the form of molecules, such as DNA, that dictate their characteristics and survival. Bioinformatics is the field concerned with deciphering the knowledge contained in these molecules–or biological information systems. This requires the use of computational tools, making bioinformatics the bridge between biology and informatics.
